Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey(2020) was a hardcore chick-flick in the best way. The majority female cast ranged from Margot Robbie (as Harley Quinn) to Jurnee Smollett-Bell (as Canary). Each female character radiated strength and assertiveness. The film follows Harley Quinn post Joker break-up. She ventures throughout the movie trying to create a name for herself outside of their relationship. Although this film is drenched in female empowerment, it may have been too much for some, and too little for others. So I asked my twitter followers.
For the most part, many people believe that despite the raw girl power within Birds of Prey, that female empowerment is still a need within the film community. When I asked my Instagram followers the same question, they shared some of the same thoughts

It seems that the majority would love to see more female empowerment in film. I can’t say that I disagree.
What is your favorite film that empowers women?
I look forward to seeing your comments and thoughts on the matter.
